Roles & permissions
Complete reference of every PayMongo role and its permissions — what each role can do and which to assign to your team.
PayMongo has a set of predefined roles — standard roles available to all accounts and additional roles to manage linked accounts.
Standard roles
| Role | What it can do | Suggested for |

| Account Owner | Full access to all Dashboard features. Cannot be assigned or transferred. | The person who created the account. |
| View Payments | View all links, pages, and payments. | Staff who need read-only access to transaction data. |
| Manage Links | View all links. Create payment links. Archive & unarchive links. | Staff who create and manage payment links. |
| Manage Pages | View all pages. Create pages. Edit & delete pages. | Staff who build and maintain payment pages. |
| Refund & Contest dispute | View all payments. Issue refunds. Contest disputes. | Finance or support staff handling refunds and chargebacks. |

Managing linked accounts roles
| Role | What it can do |

| Manage child accounts | View & invite child accounts. Enable & disable split payments. |
| Manage child payouts | View & export child payouts. |
Shared access
Regardless of their assigned roles, most team members can also:
- View and edit their own profile settings
- View business information
- Toggle between live and test mode
The Manage Users, View Wallet, and linked accounts roles do not include the live and test mode toggle. The View Wallet and linked accounts roles also do not include profile settings or business information access.
Choosing the right roles
Not sure which roles to assign? Here are common team setups:
