Dashboard analytics
Use dashboard analytics to review revenue trends, transaction breakdowns, and pre-built reports without SQL.
You will learn how to use the built-in dashboard analytics views to monitor revenue and transaction performance without writing SQL.
Who this page is for
Use dashboard analytics if you work in finance or leadership and need quick access to business reporting. You do not need SQL or coding knowledge to use these views.
What dashboard analytics includes
Dashboard analytics gives you built-in reporting inside the PayMongo Dashboard. It is designed for common business questions that do not require a custom query.
The main types of views in this area include:
- Revenue trends for monitoring how revenue changes over time
- Transaction breakdowns for comparing transaction activity across payment methods and other business dimensions
- Pre-built reports for answering common reporting questions without manual query writing
When to use dashboard analytics
Use dashboard analytics when you need answers quickly and a built-in view already covers the question.
Common examples include:
- Reviewing daily revenue
- Checking payment method breakdowns
- Sharing a high-level business view with leadership
Basic workflow
- Open the dashboard analytics view in the PayMongo Dashboard.
- Select the report or built-in view that matches your question.
- Review the figures for the relevant date range.
- Compare revenue trends or transaction breakdowns based on the business question you are answering.
- Export or share the result if your team needs a copy.
When to switch to Prism
Move to Prism when you need more than a built-in report can provide. Prism is the better choice when you need a custom reconciliation report, a custom export, or a query that uses the schema directly.
Read Prism when you are ready for SQL-based reporting.
