Manage your balance

Know exactly what's spendable, with two reliable ways to keep the wallet funded for outbound moves.

Overview

Your Wallet balance grows in two ways:

  • Automatically, when accepted payments settlement at the end of each payment cycle
  • Manually, when you transfer funds in from a bank account or e-wallet.

Your available balance is the amount you can send or use immediately, distinct from pending funds still in transit.

This page covers both funding flows and how to check your current balance. Everything described here is performed through the Dashboard; no technical setup is required.

Funding through payment settlements

Every payment you accept through PayMongo, via card, QR Ph, e-wallet, or any other payment method, eventually settles into your Wallet. Settlement follows a payout cycle: PayMongo batches and processes fund releases on a rolling schedule, and once a payout clears, the funds appear in your available balance.

Settlement happens automatically in the background — no action is required.

For more information on receiving payment settlements, see Payouts.

Top up your balance

You can fund your Wallet at any time by sending a transfer from any bank or e-wallet to your Wallet's dedicated account number. For PHP accounts, this may be done via InstaPay or PESONet transfers. You may also generate a QRPh code and use that for your convenience.

📘

Before your first top-up:

You must sign the Statement of Acceptance in your PayMongo Dashboard. This is a one-time step that activates your Wallet for receiving direct transfers.

How to top up

  1. Log in to your PayMongo Dashboard and go to the Wallet Dashboard.
  2. Under Wallet Details, find your Wallet's account number.
  3. Open your bank or e-wallet app.
  4. Initiate a transfer to PayMongo using your Wallet's account number as the recipient.
  5. Complete your bank's confirmation steps (OTP or equivalent).

Once the transfer clears, the funds appear in your available balance and your Wallet transaction history updates automatically.

Note: Transfer timing depends on your sending bank. InstaPay transfers typically clear in real time. PESONet transfers settle same or next banking day depending on cut-off time.

View your balance

Your available balance is displayed on the Wallet Dashboard. This is the amount you can move right now.

Two balance figures appear:

FieldMeaning
Available balanceFunds you can send or use immediately
Pending balanceFunds in transit — not yet cleared or settled

The transaction history below your balance shows every inbound and outbound movement with timestamps, amounts, and status — useful for a quick operational view.

For reconciliation-grade records, the ledger is the authoritative source. Each movement is recorded as a double-entry ledger transaction that always sums to zero. For more on how the ledger works, see Key concepts.
