When using the Onboarding API, certain fields require specific values. This appendix provides guidance on the expected values for key fields to ensure smooth integration and compliance with Paymongo's requirements.


Child Merchant

business.handle

  • If left empty, the business handle will be automatically generated based on the trade name. Note that this field can be modified when updating the Child Merchant record.

business.industry

business.intended_product

business.legal_name

  • For merchants with the business type individual , the legal_name attribute is automatically set to the first name and last name of the representative.
  • For merchants with the business type sole_proprietor , the legal_name is automatically set to the DTI registered name of the business.

business.size

business.type

  • The registration type of the business. Possible values are individual, sole_proprietor, partnership, corporation.
  • As a parent merchant, you can only onboard child merchants with a registration type that is equal to or lower than your own. For example, a partnership parent merchant can only onboard individual, sole_proprietor, and partnership child merchants.

e_wallet.provider

  • The provider of the e-wallet. Possible values are gcash, maya, grab_pay, other.

features

  • List of features available for the child merchant. Possible values are payment_gateway, basic_wallet, standard_wallet.
  • A merchant can have payment_gateway alongside either basic_wallet or standard_wallet, but cannot have more than one wallet type at the same time.

representative.nature_of_work

representative.nationality

  • Nationality of the child merchant representative, represented by a 3 letter code (e.g., PHL for the Philippines).
  • List of nationalities

representative.source_of_funds

  • Source of funds of the representative. Possible values are salary, pension, allowance, commission, donation, and other
  • List of valid source of funds

  • The intended use for the consumer account. The possible values are bills_payment, fund_transfer, and store_value

features

  • List of features available for the consumer account. Possible values are basic_wallet, fully_verified_standard_wallet.

nature_of_work

nationality

  • Nationality of the consumer, represented by a 3 letter code (e.g., PHL for the Philippines).
  • List of nationalities

source_of_funds

  • Source of funds of the representative. Possible values are salary, pension, allowance, commission, donation, and other
